What’s Been Going On…

Wow…I can’t believe it’s been over a month since my last entry!  Not too surprising the last month has been so busy for Daniel and me, and May and June are even more jam packed, with tons of family fun…birthdays, communions, baptisms, quinceneras, graduations, engagement parties, and family reunions ( I can’t wait!).  In the mean time here’s a few highlights from this past month

I was out of the office for a solid 2 weeks training in other divisions within the organization I work for, it involved visiting current and disposed of properties in our inventory…and somehow or another I got to wear a bullet proof vest….how cool is that!

I’m not sure if it’s the marathon watching of Anthony Bourdain’s No Reservations, finally catching up with Season 8 of Top Chef, or all the awesome cook books we received as wedding presents….but Dan and I are totally in cooking mode, and the results have been delicious!  Here are some of our homemade beauties…

When Dan and I got back from our honeymoon we found out that two of our closest friends Chris and Bianca had just gotten engaged!  We’re so excited for them, and so honored they’ve asked us both to be a part of their wedding party, Dan as one of Chris’ groomsmen and me as Bianca’s Maid of Honor   Here are some pictures of us at the wonderful engagement party B’s parent’s through (I didn’t get a picture of Chris…doh!)

Finally, we just celebrated Dan’s Birthday…….YAYYYYY!!!  We had so much fun that weekend, and we were so happy to have our good friend Bryce in town to celebrate with us too!  The weekend started out with the three of us bouncing around exploring San Francisco (most of it involving food haha), followed by a surprise get together for Dan with some of our closest friends.  Monday night I took Dan out for a birthday dinner at Sons & Daughters….four courses of mouth watering awesomeness…..

A Dinner Party Always Makes Me Happy

Last Friday night Daniel and I hosted our first official dinner party as Mr. and Mrs. and it was so fun!  We invited our wonderful friends Chris, Bianca, Matt, and Dallas for some yummy homemade sweet potato ravioli with butter sage sauce, grilled asparagus, and spicy pear salad (my hubby has some mad culinary skills).  It was fantastic, good wine, good friends, and great conversation….we ended the night with a few rounds of the Newlywed Game (WARNING: All Couples Play At Your Own Risk).  The dinner party was also the perfect chance to use some of our shiny new wedding gifts: pasta roller, pots and pans, bar set, martini glasses, cookbooks, place settings, linens, flower vases….like I said So Fun!  Of course this is where I would show you all the great photos I took that night….DOH!  Next time I promise I will remember to take photos…..instead here are some lovely dinner parties of my dreams, enjoy!

It Was A Good Day….

Yesterday was so much fun, after a week of non-stop pouring rain San Francisco finally got a bit of sunshine…and we made the most of it.  After church Dan and I walked over to Japantown where we (finally) had noodles at oh-so-yummy Suzu Japanese Restaurant….loved it.  Once we were done making our way through the mall, which is home to a favorite stationery store of mine Kinokuniya, we stopped by New People in the J-Pop Center to do a little window shopping of the sometimes odd, but mostly cool stuff they sell.  The day ended with a little East Bay Ikea run, and finally beer, red hawk cheese, and Modern Family at home.  Like I said it was a good day

We’re getting iPhones this week!   Dan has been wanting an iPhone for what seems like forever, he still rocks the mini-brick of a Nokia phone….which I actually secretly love   I’ve been a little more reluctant, especially since I kept telling myself that my super cool hot pink Motorola Razor worked just fine for what I needed a phone for…calling and receiving calls.  Then we went to Buenos Aires, and I LOST my phone, something that hasn’t happened since 2nd year in college!  Serendipitously the iPhone was coming to Verizon a mere 2 weeks after our return from Argentina ….Yelp, Next Muni, Google, Gmail etc.  all in my soon to be handy dandy, did I mention sexy iPhone…yessss…
